Rescue and Recovery Slow

I have a problem in deleting restore points.  It takes over four hours to delete a restore point.  I am using the Rescue and Recovery Menu to request the deletion of a restore point.  Is there a quicker way to do delete.  I have a total of 109 GB used on my HD including the restore data.  I have a T510 ThinkPad.  For two restore points I reserve 42 GB on the HD but each restore point requires only about 4 GB.  I also don't undertand that.

Re: Rescue and Recovery Slow

Is your drive heavily fragmented?

Also, do you have bad sectors on the drive? You can check the SMART diagnostics using HD Tune's trial or any other tool that offers SMART diagnostic values.
