The only disappointment is that they said on the phone the replacement WWAN card would support 3G and 4G. When I tested my 4G SIM, it achieved a paltry 1.5 Gbit at lunchtime and 3 GBit download in the afternoon, which is a poor performance for a top business Laptop.
The WWAN card doesn't support 4G as you've already discovered, and the support desk should have known that.
WWAN performance on 3G or 4G dependent on how well the ISP you are using has provisioned their WWAN service for your locality (that is the number of antennas, how they are oriented, the number of cells and the CVC on the backhaul), and its seems that on 3G your ISP has not provisioned the service that well..
