My TP25 SSD get is LENSE20512GMSP34MEAT2TA
And it's firmware is 1.9.8341
But I see X1 carbon SSD Firmware can update to 2.0.8341
I try to use this firmware update utility, but always update FAIL
So,when the TP25 SSD (LENSE20512GMSP34MEAT2TA) firmware can update to 2.0.8341 ?

I have the exact same SSD in my T25. When I look at the support notes for this firmware utility, it supports many ThinkPad models, including the X1 Carbon and the T470 (which the T25 is based on). However, the support notes don't specify the T25 as a supported model (although I confirmed that the X1 Carbon and the T470 can use the same Lenovo SSD in them as is installed in our T25's). I went to the T470 download site, downloaded the utility, and ran it, but it also failed for me. My assumption here is that this utility fails to implement because it recognizes that the machine is a T25, even though it uses a supported Lenovo SSD. Maybe the next release of this utility will add the T25 to its list of supported models. But for now, we can't use this utility to upgrade the T25's SSD firmware.

Is there a particular issue you're experiencing and expecting the firmware to address?

For me, this is simply a "peace of mind" issue. This utility is used to "assess" if your Thinkpad SSD requires a firmware update. It looks like this utility supports ALL Thinkpad models EXCEPT the T25. So, hopefully, they will add T25 support in this utility in the next release.

Firmware updates are applied to fix particular problems. It's possible that the T25 came with that level or one that doesn't need updating.

I don't know. When you run a firmware update, the program determines whether to apply the new firmware depending on the level in the drive. The T470 was sold for over a year. It is possible that the firmware level on earlier machines was different from later ones. Again, I don't know for sure. The T25 was released after the T470 and it is possible the firmware level on the drives in the T25 is different from the level in some of the T470 machines.
