SSD for T410s, SDHC card removal

I have two questions to audience.

Q1 I found I have IO errors so that is sign of my 1.8 inch hard drive is going to fail. I decided to buy faster SSD drive with higher capacity. For instance http://www.ebay.com/itm/182033131040. My question is if this SSD fits to my thinkpad. I heart that there are different form factor sizes. Can anybody make it more clear?

Q2 I have plugged micro SHDC in my Sd card slot. If I plug out card manually and reconnecting again there is no drive recognized. I must reboot laptop in order to get it working. I upadted drivers. I do not know what is root cause of this problem. Any advice is welcomed.

Re: SSD for T410s, SDHC card removal

Welcome to the forum!

The link you provided for Q1 tells me the item has been removed :-(

Generally speaking any 1.8" SATA drive should work. Alternatively you can buy a mSata SSD and a 1.8" to mSata converter, which gives additional options in terms of GB size and brands. But then you need to buy two products and be careful with the assembly (see some pictures here: click me! it's a German site but still you can see how this specific combination looks).

No idea about Q2 from my side... Sorry... Smiley Sad

Re: SSD for T410s, SDHC card removal

I do not want any kind of adapter. Problem with removal SHDC card is strange. It seems as problem with chipset itself. I will look for bugs at lenovo forum.I can not believe that somebody else did not have same problem.

Re: SSD for T410s, SDHC card removal

Does anybody have idea why SHDC card is not recognised once is plugged after removal? No drive in windows. I just have to reboot laptop to see card as drive again. Is it some bug on Lenovo?
