Startech Displayport to hdmi

Hello, I recently purchased a Startech Displayport to HDMI adapter for my Lenovo 420s Thinkpad. I was hoping that I could just plug it into the laptop and my TV, and it would work. Are there any other steps I need to take to hook this up? Thanks for your help, Adam

Re: Startech Displayport to hdmi

Hi Fourfromthefloo,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing issues with External display after connecting it from HDMI to DP on your ThinkPad 420s.

Please make sure you have updated all the drivers and application for your system, if you have not updated then use ThinkVantage system update tool.

Usually this kind of issue resolves if you update the graphic driver.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar

Re: Startech Displayport to hdmi

Unfortunately, this did not work.

I updated all my drivers, and went to ThinkVantage system update, and it said I didn't have anymore updates at this time.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Startech Displayport to hdmi

Hi Fourfromthefloo,

Click on Windows + P key’s and you will get new window for screen sharing and check changing the setting in that like duplicate & extend option.

Have you checked with different cable & with different external display? Because this could be issue with cable also.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar
