T25 battery discharge order

Hi, I'm a T25 user. I've seen several posts about the new discharge behaviour on thinkpads (i.e. to discharge the battery with least wear first) however, like many other users I would like to discharge the external battery first, since I purchased the 72Whr battery for this purpose. In another post, it was suggested that this behavior might be fixed soon - any updates?

Re: T25 battery discharge order

I believe like all of the Thinkpads with the dual battery design (Internal + External), the External battery drains first, then the internal, to facilitate the hot swapping of the external battery while the system is running on the internal battery.

It appears that this used to be true, but not anymore; the new algorithm changes the discharge order dynamically, based on battery wear.

FWIW, I prefer the old algorithm myself, and would like it if there was some way for the user to control it.

Re: T25 battery discharge order

This issue still persists and it is September 2018. I wish Lenovo would listen to the feedback of its customers and bring back the old discharge order where the external battery always discharges first. Or at least give the user the option to control this behavior.
