T400 powers on in "projector only" mode

My T400 turns on and awakes from sleep in "Projector Only" mode. The screen is black, and I have to press Fn+F7 to toggle out of the mode back to "computer only"

Does anyone know how to default turn on in "computer only"/fix this problem?

Does this happen even if you don't have an external monitor plugged in?

Yes. I've never plugged an external monitor in before. This happened only after I upgraded my operating system from Vista to Windows 7 32-bit.

An in-place upgrade? Those tend to cause more hassle than they save.
