T410 Gobi 2000 Driver for Windows 8.1

Hey Guys,

is there any driver for a T410 with a Gobi 2000 W-Wan Card what is actually working? Already tried the Windows 7 driver, the beta win 8.1 driver, installed several programs but there is always the error massage "No supported System". Any advice? Thanks so far

Hi

install win7 Gobi 2000 drivers not from setup.exe package you've downloaded from Lenovo site, but launch GobiInstaller.msi from the folder where package has been unpacked. I hope you know about different fw images for certain carrier and appropriate parameter DEFAULTIMAGE in the installer's command line string.

Re: T410 Gobi 2000 Driver for Windows 8.1

Hey thanks for your help i actually executed that line:

msiexec /i C:\Drivers\GobiInstaller.msi

i actually found no appropriate Parameter for /DefaultImage (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa367988(v=vs.85).aspx)

I actually found this site: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Talk:Qualcomm_Gobi_2000

I am aware that there are some different FW`s out there but i cant figure it out where i should put the Parameter UMTS in (since its the Default Image we are talking about)

Re: T410 Gobi 2000 Driver for Windows 8.1

Add DEFAULTIMAGE=6 at the end of installer command line.
What's your carrier name?

Don't worry if you'll need to change carrier or fw later. There are several ways to do that w/o drivers reinstallation.

Re: T410 Gobi 2000 Driver for Windows 8.1

What you mean by carrier name? the provider i use? Never heard that before

So i executed that line i can see the gobi card in the device manager now but i cant activate her if i put a SIM Card in i only see this: WWAN.jpg

So it actually says: Unnamed,

connect automatically

automated roaming

Any advice for that?

Re: T410 Gobi 2000 Driver for Windows 8.1

Yes, in my post (not only) "carrier" == "provider name"

Regarding your picture and new issue above be sure "WWAN Autoconfig" service works.

Re: T410 Gobi 2000 Driver for Windows 8.1

Hey sorry that it took so long to reply to your message, was busy with work.

So i checked that the Wwansvc is working so there is no problem with that, just found out that he wont create the Wwan Ports (i actually managed to get 1 Notebook working with that card) so i exported all the drivers and installed them on the new notebook did not work. By the way i use the driver 7xwc48ww( https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/migr-72938) i actually tried the 6jwa11ww out too but that aint working i only receive the error message "This install package is only for Windows 7". Dont know if this is the correct driver i am working with.

Re: T410 Gobi 2000 Driver for Windows 8.1

Hi

You don't need Mobile Broadband Activation app as it's for US carriers only (Verizon, AT&T).
Regarding the Gobi drivers have a look at the Device Manager -> Network Adapters, Ports, Modems threads. There should be devices with "Gobi 2000" context within description, w/o "!" or "?" marks.

What's happening if you tap on the Unnamed network item on the screen above? Any chance there is a request to activate the service?

So when i press on and try to connect to my provider this error comes. I will translate it for you:

Connection not possible.

Service is not active.

If you want to activate the service please contact verzizon Wireless.

So where should i activate the service?
