T410: How to have dual display using "Presenter View" in MS PowerPoint

I have a T410 type 2522-A92 and want to present slides on a projector screen while on my laptop monitor I can see the slide and my notes.   I have so fare been unsuccessful in doing this.  Is my laptop model not equipped for this task and if so, is there any way I can put this right?

Keyboard setup:

  1. To use PowerPoint in Presenter Mode, the extended desktop feature must be enabled for this mode to function.
  2. Press FN+F7 and a screen like below will appear
  3. Select Extend display mode (for you could do private things without being projected on big screen)

PowerPoint setup:

  1. In PowerPoint, go to the Slideshow menu and click "Set up show”.
  2. Click on the Presenter Mode or Show Presenter View.

After doing this and starting the slide show, the slide will appear on the second monitor (the projection screen) and the laptop screen can be used to access something in private.

Refer here for further information on how to configure PowerPoint to use presenter view with two monitors.
