T410 Ultrabay Second Hard Drive

I just purchased a T410 running Windows 7 and want to be able to boot to a hard drive installed in the Ultrabay. I have a hard drive that was configured for a Dell D620 running Windows XP. I have installed this hard drive in the Ultrabay. When I boot the T410 I press F12 to select my boot drive. It recognizes the hard drive in the Ultrabay, but the screen just goes blank and won't boot. If I let the computer boot normally, I can see all the files on the hard drive in the Ultrabay. Am I just missing drivers on the hard drive from the D620? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: T410 Ultrabay Second Hard Drive

the hdd configured for dell laptops is not going to boot in a Thinkpad, you need to reinstall everything under Thinkpad on that hdd to able to get it to work.

Re: T410 Ultrabay Second Hard Drive

The only option you have is to boot into safe mode and hope that works. If that doesn't then you'll have to instlal Wins and the respective drivers on that hard drive as well, as stated above.
