Question

The T410 keyboard is not keeping up with my typing speed.

Answer

Some early T410 with original ship level BIOS could exhibit these symptoms.  These were resolved via an updated BIOS.

 

  1. Ensure all drivers have been updated via TVSU or Windows Update.
  2. Download latest BIOS from support site.
  3. Cold boot the laptop and flash latest BIOS.
  4. Check keyboard is working properly. If the keyboard is still not up to your typing speed, do try to use an external keyboard.
  5. If external keyboard is working fine and the laptop keyboard is still slow, do send the laptop in for the service center to be checked.
