I have a T410 with the nVIDIA Optimus graphics which includes both the nVIDIA NVS 3100M and integrated Intel HD Graphics.
I have the following driver versions:
nVIDIA NVS 3100M: 8.17.12.5738
Intel HD Graphics: 8.15.10.2253
Any time I load IE9 32-bit, Live Essentials (such as Live Movie Maker), the applications crash.
Here are a few of my test cases:
IE9 64bit mode runs without crashing and with GPU rendering enabled.
IE9 32bit mode crashes with GPU rendering enabled no matter which graphics adapter I tell it to open with.
IE9 32bit mode runs with software rendering fine.
Live Movie Maker crashes when opened with nVIDIA graphics adapter, but NOT with the Intel one.
According to the error log when the applications crash, I know it must be related to the nVIDIA video drivers:
