T410 refuses to Power up

Hello

So i have this t410 and it does weerd tings.

I can start and use it normaly if it was powerd down for a day or somethin.

As soon as i try to reboot or shutdown and try to power on again it wont start .

Power light and Keyboardlight and what not are flashing for a short moment .. and that´s it !!!

The only way to strat it up again so far is to wait for a day sometimes 2 leaving it powerd down and battery out.

Powerbutton hold down not helping

Cmos clear not helping

Hardware removing and reseating not helping

And pretty much everyting from the manual does nothing ...

once i got an Fan error ,repaced the fan and the thermalc grace , reseated the cpu .. nothing.

Anyone had this before ?

Is there a solution .. and not just throwing it away ...

Re: T410 refuses to Power up

You mentioned you had Fan error. Check if the new one is still working.

Re: T410 refuses to Power up

cmon .. the Fan was not the problem in first place. i just changed it just to be sure.

it seems like the t410 is going to some overheat protective state or someting ..

Doesn't look good. Try removing the hard drive, the wlan/wwan cards and both RAM modules and boot, if you don't hear a series of loud beeps I guess the motherboard is toast...

Re: T410 refuses to Power up

Artcore101,

are you able to replace RTC (CMOS) battery? At least, for the test, connect any battery with the same voltage. Or even try to boot laptop w/out that battery connected.

Re: T410 refuses to Power up

Artcore101,

I'm sure any laptops, computers manufacturer knows about possible issues old (!) batteries related. There are no miracles in phisics, so, the life time batteries are absent.

Glad to see your success.
