My T410S has frozen up on occasion (consistently since I bought it in March 2011) and I have come to the conclusion that it only happens when I have my extra battery in the external bay (same place where you can put the DVD drive). I can't be sure if this only happens when I'm running on battery but I think that's the pattern. I also have thought a few times that it might be when it's close to switching from running on the external battery to running on the internal one. The effect is just a freeze - the display stay sin place and I have suddenly no mouse or keyboard and have to do a hard reboot.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I've been reluctant to do a support call since I'm not 100% sure that this is the cause.
Thanks for feedback.

could you try the following and then reply back with your assesment >>
main battery+external bay battery+ac adapter = does it freeze?
main battery+external bay battery (without ac adapter) = does it freeze?
main battery (without external bay battery) +ac adapter = does it freeze?
(without main battery) +external bay battery+ac adapter = does it freeze?
ac adapter only (remove both batteries) = does it freeze?
