T410s Lenovo Solution Center NVS 3100 GPU test skipped

2016-09-20, 12:18 PM

Hi Friends,

I am working on setting up the T410s I got recently.

When I start the Test, then it skippes, or shows a scratched symbol for the NVS 3100M GPU RAM Test, saying it's not needed.

When I open the Protocol, it says following on Position:

PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0

Does this mean, the card is actually not running?

Also, I got some Keyboard buttons that wont work: (^,q,a,y)

I might need to check the Bios, to see if the card is active. It does show the card in the device manager though.

Thx for help and opinions!

So, I read that the extra GPU is used additionally via the Lenovo Power Management. I checked the Bios and it is set to "switchable". And the Power management should activate the NVS GPU depending on needed or not.

I might have to try to switch to "discrete" and see the difference.

There is 4k Video footage on the Laptop and it's not running smoothly. I thought with the NVS it would run.

Also, I replaced the Keyboard. And the other one is working fine. So maybe there is a crack in the wire..
