Re: T420 WIN8 Battery Problem caused by Ricoh Card reader Driver

2016-02-25, 14:03 PM

Yes that's exactly what I have done, always select delete driver.

I have lost count but the Ricoh memory technology has reappeared at least 20 times during this year.

Is it really that difficult to release a working driver which would not consume 30% cpu when resuming from suspend / hibernate?

Lenovo, try googling this. Several thinkpad models are affected with Win 8.1 and Win 10.

.... and windows 8.0. I have a Lenovo T420 4236 with the same problem. Ricoh consumes 30% cpu usage after resume from standby.

Is this driver made to overheat the laptop in order to shorten its life????? I will be sending Lenovo the bill for 5 years usage with the extra 30% power consumption on a 35watt cpu which is always on.

30% x 35 watt x365 days x 5  years x 5 hours per day= 95812 watt

Price 22 cent per KW

= Lenovo you owe me 21 euros.

Please ask Ricoh about this. Its constatly their driver risdxc64.sys that behaves badly. Disabled from BIOS, deleted from device manager deleting the driver -> it keeps coming back mostly when resuming from hibernate.

It would be nice to get a BIOS update for T530 that really disabled this thing!

I have tried several drivers, from Lenovo support site, from Win10 device manager update from Internet etc. Nothing helps.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg /energy
