T420 suddenly died

Hello.
I was using my t420 just fine, no symptomps or malfunctions, till today.

I powered on the laptop and after the light and the caps lock led flashed, the wifi icon went on and nothing else happened. The screen reamained off (not just black, really off with no backlight). I've removed the two dimms (one first, then the other), i removed every drive and pci device, deattached the system battery for a minute, replaced the thermal thing between the cpu and the thing that cools the cpu (sorry I'm not english) and yet nothing. Then, when I've reassembled it entirely, it goes on, giving me the message "machine type and serial number are invalid", then goes normally to the desktop. After I power it off, it is dead again. Sorry for the long post.

Can you help me? Is there something I can do, besides throwing it in the trashcan?

Re: T420 suddenly died

Have you tried downloading an updated Bios firmware for your laptop?
