I installed XP SP3 from scratch i sysprep'd the image and ghost it to network but when i try to ghost it back i get the error "error disk not found" like it can not read the MBR, now if i put it on older like T410 it works. For some reason it wont read a disk in T420
I checked the BIOS and moved it to Legacy (UEFI) but it wont solve the problem
any ideas? Is Syamntec even compatible?

I've been using Ghost 11.5 from Ghost Solution Suite 2.5 on T420 and X220 with no problems. I'm ghosting to and from a USB HDD, not the network, but I don't know why that would be any different. So I'd recommend getting Ghost 11.5 and trying that. If it doesn't work, then I'd recommend asking Symantec for help.

Ghost 11 does not support with the EFI/GPT setup on the newer Thinkpad and Thinkstation properly. Legacy mode doesn't solve that issue, at least, not for me. Ghost 11.5 (included in Ghost Solution Suite 2.5) does.
I've been having other issues with Ghost 11.5 on a x220 though, as it won't recognize the Intel PRO 1000 network adapter, and since we're doing network deployments here, well that's a problem.
If I were you, I'd wait before buying 11.5 until it's confirmed to work with your computer.
