I have bought new thinkpad T420i (4180) on mid of February 2013 form Indonesia without OS.
After I came back to Singapore, I tried to install and everything was great,
but I got issue with LCD screen flickering when I opened Acrobat Reader 9 with background dark gray color.
Only dark gray color is flickering.
I have opened Visual studio professional 2010 with blue color also got same issue.
I have opened website with green color also got same issue
I don't have this issue when maximum brightness full scale.
I have tried this solution but can't help.
Have any one similar issue? and how to solve it?
I don't want to set brightness to maximum scale.

What OS did you install?
Have you updated the drivers for your chipset, display, graphics, and BIOS?
Is ActiveX updated?

My Laptop is running on Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 8GB Ram, VGA Intel HD 3000 on board
Yes, I have updated all drivers by Thinkvantage software (System Update) and updated bios version 1.43.
And the problem still there.
Which AxtiveX need to update?
Thanks For your replay

Here is a driver update for the display.
"You can obtain an accurate color representation with the Windows ICM file"
(direct from the 'readme' file)
Even though Microsoft has ActicveX as a part of their OS, you can still download the latest software from a third-party developer.
See if both of those help your color issue.

My laptop display driver is Thinkpad Display 1366x768 version 4.38. It is same with the link given by you.
I have tried to calibration screen color but the result still same flickering.

Try to start your system in safe mode with networking.
Safe mode will only use the basic processes which will help determine if there are other programs interfering with the displaying of those programs.
The 'with networking' aspect will allow you to test webpages for the same purpose.
If you don't have the issue in safe mode then we move to find out what software is the issue.
If you still have the issue we should have service take a look at it under warranty, or have the contact center send a new unit since it was an out-of-box issue.
