T420s doesn't support 128GB SDXC

Reinstalled Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC Host Controller software (v 2.14.18.01), updated BIOS (v.1.38?).

can read all SD/SDHC/SDXC cards up through 64GB.

Purchased a 128GB for portable storage.  I see the Ricoh appear under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in Device Manager but no drive shows.  I can view/use the card through USB and portable memory card reader.  128GB SDXC card does work on Acer Aspire S internal reader without issue.

128GB Card is a Patriot LX 128GB SDXC Class 10 and UHS-1.

64GB Card (works!) is a Sony 64GB SDXC Class 10 and UHS-1 as well.

Any way to have the card reader software updated (if necessary) to support 128GB SDXC card?

Double check in Disk Management that the 128GB card is getting a drive letter assigned to it. Sometimes Windows forgets to do it automatically.

I did a rescan and refresh. No drive appears. No 'Disk Drive' appears under Device Manager either.

Re: T420s doesn't support 128GB SDXC

Had a coworker format the 128GB card with their MacBook Pro. Got stuck a little over half way through. Put the card in my T420 and voila! the T420 saw the card and a 116GB RAW partition which I was able to format (exFAT) and copy a file onto. I gave the card to my Mac friend who could no longer recognize the card, nor format it again.  Now my T420 will no longer see it as a disk in Drive Management, even after a reboot.

Will use Acer LT to reformat again to see if that works.
