I have a T430 running Windows 10. I'm trying to update from BIOS 2.69 to 2.71. I've tried using the BIOS Update Utlity, including the bootable CD.
In both cases, the process starts, I get all the messages to make sure pc is plugged in, battery is good etc and then get the message the rest of the update will take place upon system reboot. I click on ok, and the system reboots. But instead of going into the BIOS update screens I've seen in the past, it just boots back to Windows.
Prior to the reboot, I do see a DOS window open up and something is being copied - I think the old bios?. I also see the Flash files in
C:\drivers\FLASH\ directory for the new BIOS.
The Winuptp.log shows
OS = Windows 10 64bit
System BIOS Version -> G1ETA9WW
Applying BIOS Version -> G1ETB1WW
System EC Version -> G1HT35WW
Applying EC Version -> G1HT35WW
AC adapter/Battery check....OK.
BIOS Flashing....BIOS Flash completed.
but when I check the bios, it still shows as version 2.69
>wmic bios get smbiosbiosversion
G1ETA9WW (2.69 )
Appreciate any help,
Thanks and regards,

Turns out the system board had to be replaced. All good now.
I don't know how to do it, but this post can be closed.
