T430 Bios update failure

Lenovo System Update recommended a BIOS update so I clicked it. During the update, when I'm looking at the black and white text screen where it says "do not turn off the computer!!!" and shows a text progress bar, the laptop suddenly turns off. I have the power connected and battery charged. I did nothing, touched nothing, during this process. Now when I press the power button, the thinklight blinks, I hear beeps, and the screen is black. I had nothing plugged in to the USBs, no accessories, no external monitors, no DVD, etc.

I see from other posts that there is no fix for this? Seriously? It's 2019 and you still haven't fixed your faulty BIOS system updater? It said it was a 2018 update.

Re: T430 Bios update failure

There may be better places to start your research, but here's one thread on recovery.

I have no personal experience, but bookmarked the thread "just in case":

If my post helps a Kudo is appreciated, if I answer your question, please mark it ”Accepted Solution“ and give it a Kudo! ... Some years ago I worked for IBM. Currently I do not work for, nor do I speak for Lenovo or IBM.

Re: T430 Bios update failure

Please unplugg all devices from the device and try to boot again this sometimes prevents the bios from updating for securety reasons.

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
