T430s: USB 2.0 port not working but devices can be charged

The yellow USB 2.0 port appears not to be working on my T430s. Devices are not detected by the USB 2.0 ports but they can be charged.

As a result of that, I am forced to use other USB 3.0 ports for external HD or mouse.

How to ensure USB 2.0 ports can be used as usual?

First of all, we need to understand the info below:

There are two places to enable Always on USB - in BIOS and in Power Manager, under Global Power Settings.

When the Enable Always On USB check box is selected, USB power is supplied even when the computer is in Standby mode, in Hibernation mode, or is turned off. When the computer is switched off, the Always On USB feature works only when the computer power is supplied through an AC adapter.

Always On USB is not supported for USB connectors on docking stations.

-On some systems, Always On USB provides the following functions:
- Charging some iPod® and iPhone™ digital devices
- Charging some BlackBerry® smartphones
- Charging some other digital devices
- Automatically detecting USB devices

Not all non Lenovo products, or other USB devices can be charged.A possible workaround is to unplug the device and replug it in. A non Lenovo product be charged only from the USB port which is yellow in color or having the following icon. [USB+battery ]

Other devices can be charged from any USB port.

User experience:

We had a community user shared that the USB 2.0 ports worked right after loaded the bios to default. You may want to give it a try.
