T430s blinking power light, incomplete shutdown

2013-04-19, 14:49 PM

I have a relatively new T430s running Windows 8 x64.

Starting a few days ago, whenever I tell Windows to shutdown, it appears that Windows shuts down, but the laptop does not, and the power button light/battery charge light blink at a fast green.  I've left it that way overnight, and the light is still blinking and the power still hasn't shut down.

From this state the only fix is to hold down the power button for 5 seconds to force a power down, then press the power button again to start it back up.

Does anybody have any ideas about what might be causing this problem or how to fix it?

Thanks!

Charles

I found the solution.

Remove the BIOS Battery for 1-2 Minutes and put it in again.
