On the sales configurator, I have two options for the power cord: (a) 45W AC Adapter - US (2pin), and (b) 65W AC Adapter - AG.
Is there any reason to choose the 45W over the 65W adapter? What's "US" vs "AG"? Is there any size difference? My primary use will actually be outside of US.
Any thoughts appreciated.

I'm afraid the information in that article is kind of outdated.
The choice is between the two adapters: 45W and 65W. I obviously would prefer the the 65W, but I'm asking about the shape of the power brick and the plug type. How are the two items different from each other?

Hello, the shape of the plug is the same, i.e. the new rectangle slim-tip.
It's really just a trade-off. The 65W is a little bigger, and I mean just a little, and will charge your machine faster. But both will work just fine. I am using the 45W one for my Helix and the 65W for my T440s.
In some areas, the T440s is also available with the dedicated Nvidia GT730M Graphics chip, which requires more power, so the 65W is the standard option for that model.

Additionally, you can get the 65W slim adapter, which fits better in a bag/sleeve/traveling bag.

US/Canada and Japan adapter models are 2-pin; all other country adapter models are 3-pin, with the added 3rd grounding pin. All my Lenovo adapters (Iceland) are 3 pin AG models.
My T440s is the i7 model as well, and it came with a standard 65W, not the slim type.
