I am new to these forums so a big hello to everyone.
I am looking for confirmation on compatibility with T440s (BIOS 2.44) and Intel AC 8265 Wireless card (FRU: 01AX704)
Can anyone confirm in BIOS 2.44 (Latest) if the following card above has been added to the BIOS Whitelist?
I would rather get some confirmed solid confirmation before I purchase.
The Intel AC 7260 is not the greatest of cards and an upgrade would be nice. I don't see it feasible that Lenovo would have individual whitelists for individual ThinkPad series, I would say that it is likely they update all the whitelists as and when new cards come on to the market?

Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.
IMHO it will not work as BIOS is whitelisted.
I hope the above information helped you.

Many thanks for the reply and comments.
You're right there about whitelisting. As it turns out the Intel AC 8265 card I had previously purchased for my Acer carries this FRU in question.
Alas you're right, it does not work. Although the card is certified by Lenovo to work, it is only certified and whitelisted to work in the T460s. Of course I find this strange that it is not whitelisted across the T400 series in general.
I also found out after some research that BIOS 2.36 for the T440s does not have a whitelist. Problem here is I already have BIOS 2.44 so it cannot be recovered back to 2.36.
2.37 onwards has reintroduced the whitelist.
I would only hope that Lenovo are starting to listen and remove the whitelists once more as I have also learned but cannot comment further as I don't own one that the T450 series and a few others no longer have whitelists.
It is very restrictive for those that want to prolong the life of their laptops by installing a more modern WiFi and/or WWAN card.
As far as I am aware Lenovo and HP are the only 2 major manufacturers that have the whitelisting now. I know DELL and Toshiba have long removed their whitelisting in the BIOS but could be just the devices I have used.

I am not sure who accepted this as a solution but it is not really resolved.
I think the forums speak volumes on this whitelisting issue but Lenovo either are ignorning, don't really give a monkeys or are simply moving so fast with their products each year in the T4xx series that us with older laptops just get forgotten and eventually end up with a brick after 3 years.
We have established the card "Will not work" BUT it "Will not work" for what reason? The BIOS whitelist, because the card is not whitelisted. This is the only reason.
Lenovo do need to take note here that there are customers purchasing these laptops that are not business users and want to prolong the life of their laptops for a little longer than the business lifecycle for these laptops.
The whitelist was once removed in V2.36 BIOS so it can simply be removed again. Some put this down to a "bug" that was fixed, but I don't buy it.
