T450 TouchPad and TrackPoint not working after drop

Hi,

After dropping my laptop, both touchpad and trackpont have stopped working along with buttons on touchpad.

I am wondering if I need to replace keyboard and touchpad or should I have a look at something first before doing this.

I've checked Hardware maintenance manual and couldn't find any related information regarding this.

Re: T450 TouchPad and TrackPoint not working after drop

Hi Inky,

Greetings from Lenovo.

For the mentioned issue, is there any damage found on the touchpad? Are you able to type the keys? Try to boot the machine into safe mode and check if the touchpad works.

Re: T450 TouchPad and TrackPoint not working after drop

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response Smiley Happy

There isn't any damage around the touch pad, and keyboard works fine.

All keyboard keys are working as intended along with keyboard backlight.

I am using linux, and I've managed to boot up the system without any problems.

Also current workaround is to plug in external mouse.

It appears that only TrackPad and TrackPoint are not working.

Cheers,
