T450 failed BIOS update

I got my ThinkPad T450 2-3 weeks ago. I wanted to update my BIOS to the latest version (1.18) coming from version 1.17 as of writing.

When trying to flash my BIOS I get the following message: "Secure Flash Authentication Failed".

Then I arrived at the following KB article which does not seem to work for me at all:

Warm regards,

Re: T450 failed BIOS update

I ha be this exact same issue on my T450s, currently at 1.17. I am unable to update to 1.18 or 1.19, even after disabling the rollback prevention. Can anyone from Lenovo assist?

Re: T450 failed BIOS update

My T450 is also affected. I've tried various combinations of security settings with no effect.

Re: T450 failed BIOS update

Lenovo has released a Service Tip that provides a step-by-step procedure on how to rollback to older BIOS versions on T450 and T450s ThinkPads. This will assist customers who receive a "Secure Flash Authentication Failed" message when trying to roll back to version JBET55WW or older.

The Tip can be found here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/SF16-T0023

Thank you,

Re: T450 failed BIOS update

This isn't solved for me, the posters (and I) are doing what this Tip says (disable Secure Rollback Prevention in the BIOS) and it still won't update. Has anyone had any luck at all with any other solution?
This is also trying to update to new versions, not to roll back.
