T450 on UltraDock - how can I get 4k@60 resolution?

2019-07-24, 14:31 PM

Hi all,

According to this page: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd029622 the UltraDock supports 4k@60 by way of each DP output on the dock (my model of T450 has only the Intel HD Graphics, no discrete graphics adapter). I have one of these ports connected to a Dell 4k monitor which definitely supports 4k@60 natively, and no other display connected to either the dock or the machine. I don't even have the notebook display open.

Is there some bios or OS setting I need to use to allow 4k@60? I can only get 4k@30 right now, and if I try to add a custom resolution via the Intel HD Graphics app, it says the resolution exceeds available bandwidth.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer here.
