The laptop is new. I am using Windows 10, nothing special: browsing, reading, etc. But CPU temperature is very often above 50 degrees. So, the fan turns on.

Setting BIOS thermal management option to "balanced" helps very slightly.

So, I'm a little disappointed with my new laptop. I find this temperature management and fan noise level unacceptable for premium quality. Next time I'll think twice before buying Lenovo laptop.

I have i7 model. Maybe high temperature is related to its high power.

I think I found a partial solution. Review power options of selected power plan (advanced settings). Some of them may affect processor utilization without reducing performance. Some software Intel Graphics Settings, Processor Power Management, etc.
It is worth noting that some software (e.g. Samsung Magician) creates its own power plan.
Anyway it doesn't solve the whole problem. The fan sound is very annoying.

Where you been. Read first then.
The T400 and later were all noisy from the get go and some overheating problems. With it being smaill the fan has to spin a lt to get rid of the heat. Buy a full sized notebook and it will be quieter.
