Thanks for Essexjohn`s  reminder!!!,

there are exactly different bewteen the 11.7.0.1043 and the 11.7.0.1040 of the version of Intel  Management Engine software. 

I solved this issue through downloding the 11.7.0.1043 version from lenovo support site,

(CAUTION: the lenovo official system update software still CAN NOT  push the updated version,Only download from  lenovo support site  )

the site of  updated driver(11.7.0.1043)

Hello Mrwtong, the problem persists after downloading and installing the 11.70.1043, then rebooting. Appreciate your efforts, look forward to a solution that does not require going to the resource monitor and ending the process.

Same here - I updated to 11.70.1043,

If I kill the process everything goes well for several days\hours and then the process get's reborn and eats up my CPU, slowing the computer to a point it hardly responds to my ctrl-alt-delete for the task manager...

 

Need a better soluction from Intel or Lenovo!

May I suggest marking this issue as - not solved yet, as most people down this thread seem to have the problem persist....

we still not duplicate the issue in our lab,

could you share more detail to help us for FA ? we will keep trying,  thank you

1. Windows10 OS version, RS1 or RS2 ?

2. Need some special setting to duplicate the issue ? such as some accout password or some other security setting I don't know.

No special action needed from my end - this process just starts on it's own. 

If I end the process it will go away for a few days and then come back on it's own.

Now I changed the file directory's name so it can't run anymore - hope it's not leathal to the computer Smiley Happy

I have the same problem. I have reinstalled from a usb , also from standard recovery and updated the bios.

Luckilly I thinkI can reurn this laptop and buy another(NOT Lenova). I've spent days on this.

I'd love a fix but it would have to be soon.

I feel bad for all the good customers who can't just return the machine.

Same problem after a BIOS update..!
I solved this issue downloding and reinstalling the Intel(R) Management Engine Interface (11.7.0.1043 version) from lenovo support site, like sugested by mrwtong.

I have 2 X1 Yoga's, one with this issue, one without.   Despite applying IME 11.7.0.1043 version multiple times, the problem persisted.

 

Comparing the IME component files between the 2 machines such as:

- C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL\Jhi_service.exe

- C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IMSS\PrivacyIconClient.exe

I noticed that the problematic machine had different file sizes and older modification dates.  Also, the good machine did not show the PTT EK Recertification service actively running in Task Manager - I believe it runs automatically upon reboot, then shuts down when it's done.

 

I uninstalled Intel Management Engine from Control Panel->Programs and Features, deleted/renamed the default subdirectory that 11.7.0.1043  extracts to when installing (I think it's C:\Drivers\AMT), deleted any left-over files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components, then reinstalled 11.7.0.1043.  Machine is running fine now, so perhaps worth trying this approach.
