T460p - Trackpoint issues

Hello, I‘ve got a Problem with the Trackpoint on my T460p running Windows 10.

when I boot the device, the Trackpoint works fine for like 10 seconds, befor becoming unresponsive completly.

The Trackpad and the Buttons above it, are working just Fine. The only problem I have with the middle button is, that the Trackpad becoms unresponsive for a few seconds after pressing it, when it’s mode is set to scrolling.

Does anybody Else have this problem or can help me with mine?

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

Can you boot a linux USB image to see if it works there? That would help you find out if it is a software/driver issue in windows or a hardware problem.

Other than that, removing the drivers, uninstalling the device from device manager and starting over might help.

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

I already tried removing the UltraNav drivers, and the pointing device was labeled as a PS/2 mouse in device manager and the Trackpoint worked just fine,so I'm thinking it is a driver issue, but I dont know which driver is conflicting here.

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

Does the problem come back when you re-install the drivers then? What drivers do you install? Microsoft's or Lenovo's? Are you sure the trackpoint is not disabled in the driver?

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

When I install the UltraNav drivers again, the Trackpoint works for like 10 seconds after a reboot and then it can't be used till the next reboot. It's still enabled in settings

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

Do you use another pointing device (mouse)? Have you tried disabling the trackpad (be careful, make sure you have a mouse nearby, in case both trackpad and trackpoint are disabled).

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

I don't have any other specific mouse drivers installed and I already tried disabling the TouchPad

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

Sorry, I cannot offer anything more.

Have you checked if you have any conflicts in device manager?

I guess from that point and on you need to start removing other drivers to see if it helps.

Re: T460p - Trackpoint issues

I reinstalled Windows 10 now, and as soon, as I installed the UltraNav drivers, the Problem returned, so I dont't know what to do anymore.
