Re: T460s Display Won't Wake From Sleep

I never saw the resolution that you were using. I've been using 2560 x 1440 since I received the system. Just curious, why the alternative display settings?

Thanks for your response.

Re: T460s Display Won't Wake From Sleep

I run a lower resolution because I work with a few programs that do not use Windows scaling.

I didn't post my resolution settings because I didn't think it was related to my issue at the time. However, now it appears that it may very well be the exact cause. I've been testing my laptop non-stop since returning to 2560x1440, and my display has thus far turned back on with 100% reliability. Thus, it does seem that running a non-native resolution will occassionaly cause the T460s display to not turn back on properly after it turns off from sleep/idle.

I understand. There's also a feature called Easy Resume available via Lenovo Settings. Have you tried to use this? Works without placing the laptop into full sleep mode.

UPDATE: I can duplicate your blank display on resuming from sleep at the resolution that you were using. However, if I also use EASYRESUME, I can't make it fail. You might be able to try this combination and see if the display issue is obviated.

Re: T460s Display Won't Wake From Sleep

I tested out EasyResume. It looks like it does work reliably when waking up your laptop from sleep within 15 minutes. However, the problem with the display not waking up perists outside that scenario, such as when the display turns off after X minutes of idle time.

It looks like for the time being I'll either have to stick with 1440p, or have to shut down the laptop whenever I want to close the lid. In the meantime I'll also have to disable the display from turning itself off when idle. Hopefully a patch to fix this issue will come out in the near future.

Same issue

under 1080P touch screen, 150% scaling.

HD520 only

Easy resume - ON

close the lid - sleep

Maybe once in two days.

can happens if last time closed the lid or just left the lid open and turned to sleep.

Re: T460s Display Won't Wake From Sleep

Lenovo identified root cause for the failures to resume from sleep on T460s ThinkPads systems as caused by Windows 10 Threshold 1. Microsoft reported that it would provide a solution in the Windows 10 Anniversary (Redstone) update.

It would be helpful to know if upgrading to Windows 10 Anniversary update resolves the issues reported here.

Thank you,

I have not seen anyone respond to that last comment about it being fixed in the anniversary update. Can anyone report whetehr this fixed their issue?

I'm on Windows 10 Enterprise that prevents me from installing this myself. I am still experiencing the issue despite applying the other ideas listed in this thread.

I have exactly the same issue on my T460s laptop which is running Windows 7 x64. Does sending my laptop to Lenovo service help the case?
