Re: T460s Intel display driver issue Windows 10
Dear Lenovo fellows,
I'm facing an issue with a brand new T460s. This laptop has been set on a docking with 2 monitors in order to extend the display.
Actually, on this mode, this works perfectly. Sadly, as soon as I take the laptop off the docking, or start it without the docking or an external monitor attached, the laptop screen stays black.
When I start the laptop, the lenovo logo appears, the Windows boot logo shows at boot and then black screen again. I've tried the shortcuts (Windows P) to change the view but nothing occurs.
The only way to make it work was to uninstall the Intel drivers and come back to Default MIcrosoft standard drivers which doesn't allow duplicate screen. I've tried to update the drivers to the latest version, including the original Intel drivers but still, not working.
I've reinstall the whole O/S using the factory CD's and it's the same problem. The funniest thing is at this moment, we found a very old driver from Intel that works. But after a few reboots, Windows 10 finds a newest and install it, even if we deactivate the function to update the drivers in Windwos Update.
So it's a never ending loop. The driver gets updated and the problem comes back again.
Does anyone of you had such experience and have an idea on how to solve it? this is quite annoying to not be able to use a laptop.
Cheers,
poy
