T460s fingerprint problem

Hello,

My fingerprint stops working after the latest update v5.1.325.26. It shows SGX disable with the error code.

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I tried to to to BIOS setting to clear the fingerprint data as well as enable SGX but the issue is still not solved. Enable and disable the device don't work too.

Thank you

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

Dear nlhtrung,

have you tried the driver rollback from the Device Manager?

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

Dear,

The rollback function is "grey out" and cannot be chosen.

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

Dear nlhtrung,

Can you try to delete(uninstall) the FPR driver completely from the Devie Manager and install the previous FRP driver from below ?

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

Thank you for your support. I managed to fix the issue by turning off sgx in bios, so the FPD runs fine with SGX disabled. Does that mean T460s not supporting SGX or something wrong with the SGX function on my laptop?

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

Can you clarify once again whether SGX worked on T460s with previous FPR driver or not?

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

I am not 100% sure whether SGX works with previous version of FPD or not. I haven't check the device manager for a while but as my memory goes it was disabled with the previous driver.

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

Dear,

In case you used preview or formal version of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, I'd like you to update the latest Intel SGX driver from Windows Update site.  At least, the latest Intel SGX driver for Fall Creators Update is v1.8.106.40803.

Re: T460s fingerprint problem

I have tried to search for it in the intel website but it seems like SGX driver for my laptop stays at 1.6.

The bios and sgx are fully up to date. In device manager it still shows SGX disabled.
