T470/T470P PCIe NVMe 2.5 adapter part reference

Hello everyone,

I'm willing to buy a T470 or a T470P in the next weeks, with a 512gb pcie nvme ssd, but the price for it in my country (almost 400€) is very overpriced, I would prefer to buy an ssd separately.

As I saw in the T470 review by Notebookcheck, the pcie nvme ssd takes place in the 2.5" slot via adapter.

Is there a way to buy that adapter separately ?

I didn't manage to find any reference for that specific part during my researches.

Thank you.

Regards,

Guru

If I'm not mistaken, the M.2 adapter for the 2.5" tray of the T470 has the part number 01AX994. You also need the cable that connects the system board to the M.2 adapter (00UR496).

Thanks for this information.

Could someone from Lenovo tell us where we can get these parts? They don't show up on the U.S. parts store!

Re: T470/T470P PCIe NVMe 2.5 adapter part reference

I just received my T470p with an M.2 256GB SSD from Toshiba and this one comes with a "rubber case" to fit into the slot. I changed the Toshiba SSD with a Samsung 2.5" EVO 850 SSD (500GB) and it fits perfectly without adaptors because I reused the rubber case.

Re: T470/T470P PCIe NVMe 2.5 adapter part reference

Hi

Could you provide me with the part number for the M.2 NVMe SSD adapter please that your unit came with, on the Lenovo website the system parts sheet is not yet published for this model, I am looking to replace the slow HDD that came with mine with and M.2 SSD.

Many Thanks,

Re: T470/T470P PCIe NVMe 2.5 adapter part reference

Hi All

Lenovo now has posted the system service parts PDF for the different models that have been released lately, you can find these PDFs on this link

https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/pd100192

Also I believe the part number for the M.2 SSD adapter as per the system service part for the T470p is the 01HY319 - M.2 2280 SSD Adapter Bracket ASM(https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/t470p_frubom_20170428.pdf) however I can't really confirm if this is the right one because on the lenovo parts lookup website there are still no pictures on these new service parts, but I have ordered myself this part because I am planning to upgrade the SSD with this part so I can fit an M.2 SSD. I will confirm this once I have received it and let you know if this is the correct one.

Regards,

Hi All

As promised, attached the picture of the 01HY319 - M.2 2280 SSD Adapter Bracket ASM for the T470p and can confirm this is the part where you can actually upgrade your 2.5" SSD to the M.2 PCIe. I bought it directly from IBM http://www-304.ibm.com/shop/europe/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/default/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=-826&....

Re: T470/T470P PCIe NVMe 2.5 adapter part reference

Does it include a cable to connect the adapter to the motherboard? Is such a cable necessary?
