After imaging the T470, X270, or Yoga 370 the sound crackles at higher volumes when the unit starts up. Verified we have the latest sound drivers for the models on the Lenovo Drivers site. We have run the Lenovo utility to make sure all drivers are installed and updated them as neccasery. When playing music from other sources (mp3, youtube, etc) the sound is fine, it seems to only be an issue when going into control panel - sounds - sound tab that we see the issue. If you play sounds from the Realtek HD Audio Manager in control panel the default sound is fine, no crackling. I noticed on a factory imaged T470/X270 when playng sounds from within Control Panel - Sounds the volume output when the volume is 100% seems much quiter than our custom baremetal build. Looking to see what is causing the sound to be overdriven which is causing cracking at higher volumes.
OS- Windows 10 64 Bit Build 1607

Same problem on my T470 when the laptop first boots into Windows. You describe it exactly....distorted, crackly sound. Just playing other sounds later on are fine.
If you go to Control panel > Sound > Playback, select Speaker (Realtek) > Properties > Enhancements and checkmark "Disable all Sound Effects", it eliminates the overdriven effect, although the side effect is lower volume.

Hi guys, I have the same issue. I tried disable the dolby audio but the issue continues and when the notifications pop up the sound crackles.
There is any workaround to solve this ?
