T470s Thunderbolt Broken after BIOS Update

2019-03-06, 19:53 PM

Am running a T470s with a Gigabyte eGPU. Been working fine until I upgraded to the latest BIOS 1.31 the other day, and now it no longer works. The small fain of the eGPU will spin up but the main unit itself (main fan, lights, etc.) will not spin up at all.

Thus far I have...
1. Checked BIOS settings (No Security)
2. Installed/reinstalled Thunderbolt software & firmware
3. Downgraded BIOS to the last two versions and back
4. Tested eGPU with work laptop & it functions as expected

I'm running Windows 10 but I believe that the issue is unrelated to Windows 10. The reason is, is that beforehand, when the laptop first boots and is still in the BIOS phase, the eGPU used to fire up immediately (lights & main fan). But I cannot even get that, which tells me the issue is not Windows 10 related.

Any other suggestions before I go open a support ticket with Lenovo? I'm still under warranty at least.
