T480 Thunderbolt 3 graphics docks not detecting external monitors

2019-10-27, 2:05 AM

Hello,

I have been using a Lenovo T480 with a thunderbolt 3 graphics dock that includes a graphics card. The setup had been working great for about three months until all of a sudden my two external monitors shut off in the middle of some work, and the laptop display turn on. During this time no drivers were being updated and I was using excel. Currently typing of my keyboard and using my mouse hooked up to the dock, so the pass-through for USB ports on it is still working. I also check all the cables but they all seem good and the graphics dock is displaying a green light.

I hopped on the Lenovo support page, for the T480 and downloaded all the auto drivers, then proceeded to download:

  • Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Graphic Dock

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds500314

  • Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 10 (Version 1703)

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds502213

  • Critical Intel Thunderbolt Software and Firmware Updates - ThinkPad

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/sk/en/solutions/ht508988

  • Lenovo System Update for Windows 10

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds012808

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Eric
