I have a new T480s that works fine except for the touchoad. Most times i use the keyboard the touchpad is disabled automatically. It tuns back on after a few seconds, during which I can only use the trackpoint.
It seems to be a ELAN driver problem as many other laptops report similar issues. I have tried some of the registry tweaks to disable the feature and it seems to have improved but still persists at time.

we are experienced similar symptom on ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th that TrackPoint cap accidentally conflict with keyboard caps ( 'G', 'H' or 'B') then touchpad is disabled. I'm curious whether symptom will be changed if you removed TrackPoint cap.

the problem results when i use the touchpad not the trackpoint. It seems from what i read on the net, that this results because the touchpoint is disabled during keyboard use.
How can this be changed?

I was advised the below procedure can enable touchpad during keyboard use;
To enable the touchpad during keyboard use, customer may change the Touchpad Sensitivity in Touchpad Native UI Settings.
