Based on psref ( https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/ThinkPad/ThinkPad_T490 ), it seems like only the 400nits display have 2 options lowpower and privacyguard. And from previous reply by another poster, the current 400nits option is lowpower. Privacy guard will be released at a later date

Ok then the two options on the italy site are low power but not privacy guard ?
But the Privacy Guard option is more dispensive ? Because it haven't the low power option...
I would like also to know if I configure my T490S with : RJ45, smartcard reader the case is different and weight is morethen the basic model ?

From what I understand, only the 400nits display can have low power option. The 300nits multi touch display in your image does not have low power nor privacy guard option, it's just "regular" type (i don't know how to phrase it more descriptively)

Good afternoon to everyone, first of all, excuse me for my not so well English, I am from Peru.
Congratulations for the excelent reviews for both machines.
I am about to buy my first Thinkpad, T590, especially for the numpad, the bigscreen and the materials its made.
But, the big issue, THE SCREEN, im looking for a FHD one.
Do anybody know if Lenovo USA is going to enable the FHD, 400 nits options sometime, with better % of sRGB, contrast, etc?
I occasionally do some light photo editing.
Or maybe, is there a screen on the market you recomend to do the upgrade?
I don't know how it will look if you modify on "Intel Control Panel" increasing Contrast, saturation, gama, etc, on my Y50 its perfect.

Well after an incredibly long wait, the T590 is now customizable with the 4k screen, though the webpage throws an "Invalid configuration!" error when you try to select it. I suppose it'll be at least another couple weeks before we start seeing reviews of models with this screen. I hope the battery life is still serviceable, though I'm not very hopeful with such a small 57Whr battery.

Oh my..... +$500!!??
Almost plus another laptop.
Is it worth it?
Im thinking about the FHD screen of the X1 Extreme Gen 2 : 500 nits Dolby Vision HDR 400.
Will it be compatible with the T590?

Yea that's pretty steep. As much as I think the 4k T590 would be my dream laptop I won't even consider buying it until notebookcheck.com reviews it. Whether I pull the trigger will depend on how good the screen is and how much of an impact it has on the battery life.
That's a good question about the X1E2 screen. I have no idea if it would be compatible but I think it would be worth asking about over at reddit.com/r/thinkpad.
