T500: Rescaling the fonts of the WSXGA+ into something looking like a WXGA+ ?

2009-03-28, 5:11 AM

I am planning to buy a T500, and I am struggling between the

"Bad resolution WXGA "    OR     the "tiny fonts WSXGA+" ......

I would definitely go for the WSXGA+ if I knew that I can successfully

(and consitently) change the size of the fonts in XP.

I looked at:

 http://www.entity.cc/change-icon-font.php

OR

http://www.xp-tips.com/change-font-size.shtml

Althogh I am afraid that there might be some items that may stay too small independently of what one can do!

And perhaps there are ITEMS that cannot be rescaled!  (???)

Moreover:

I had a bad experience some years ago with my desktop:

after changing the size of the fonts all over, everything looked fine but I had troble filling out  forms in Firefox:

I could only see the top half part of whatever I was typing

(not a good feature to have when you are buying something.... )

THANKS!

Using bigger fonts usually works very much ok with at least semi-modern programs. There are only a very few programs where you run into the old problems of overflowing dialogs and stuff like that.

I'm running the WSXGA+ screen with  large fonts (WinXP) and it works perfectly fine.
