T500-Vista business - Create recovery media and drive partion

I have T500 with vista business. The factory outlet contains only one main drive c and some recovery drive S and Q.

I want partition the C drive, unfortunately shrink option of vista is not working. So I want go with create recovery media creation and install vista again and create new drive partition.

Can anyone tell me how may cds(700mb) needed to create recovery media? How to proceed further.

if you use cd there should be around 8 discs, if you use the dvd then it is 3 discs.
