Re: T500 and DisplayLink USB adapter not working
Hi. We use DisplayLink USB to VGA adapters to enable dual monitors for many of our staff. Our current Lenovo model T500, type 2242 with XP Pro is unable to work with these devices.
When installing the DisplayLink device, the driver flashes a warning that states "An incompatibility has been detected that will prevent DisplayLink from operating properly. Please ensure you are using the latest version of your graphics driver and DisplayLink software". The installer then rolls back and exits.
I have obtained the latest driver package from the DisplayLink manufacturer and found that there is an update to the Intel graphics drivers. Current graphics driver on the system is 6.14.10.5294 and the update from the Intel site is 6.14.10.5303
After downloading the driver, Intel states that I am unable to install the driver as the "driver us not validated for this computer, please contact the manufacturer for the appropriate driver" and then exits.
The Lenovo download area for this particular model does not list an updated driver beyond the one already installed.
Any assistance would be appreciated so that I can get my users up and running with their equipment.
Thanks
