T500, consumes more Energy when using Battery Power

I was checking the Battery Monitor for a T500 using Windows 7 and when connected to the AC Adapter the Wattage consumption is around 15 watts or less, however as soon as I disconnect the power supply consumptions goes above 30 watts and stays there.
According to the Power Settings in battery mode the machine should be consuming a lot less power than in AC mode.

Re: T500, consumes more Energy when using Battery Power

When connected to the AC, Power Manager shows the charging wattage (into the battery). When on battery, it shows battery consumption (from the battery).

That said 30W is way too high. Are you running on the High Performance ATI graphics?

I'm running ATI Radeon HD 3650.

Re: T500, consumes more Energy when using Battery Power

The Radeon HD 3650 would consume lots of power.

Right click on the Power Manager battery indicator, highlight Switchable Graphics, and choose Energy Saving Graphics. This switches it to the Intel GPU, which is way more power efficient, but has considerably less performance.
