My T510 thinkpad turns itself on automatically sometimes. Sometimes I wake up the next day and when I open the lid, I find that the screensaver is on. I always put my computer into hibernate when I close the lid. I have my laptop almost always plugged into the AC adapter as well. I've noticed that this has happend 4 or 5 times already. I've had my laptop for approximately 1 1/2 months now. I set my windows update to off so I don't think 'that's whats causing the laptop to turn on itself. Any help would be appreciated.

Is your computer set up to "Allow wake timers"? It's for Windows 7 only.
There also may be some kind of wake timers in the BIOS configuration.
To check the first, do the following;
1. Click the Start button.
2. Click "Control Panel"
3. Click "System and Security"
4. Click "Power Options"
5. Click "Change plan settings" for the power plan currently in use.
6. Click "Change advanced power settings"
7. Expand "Sleep" by clicking the + next to it.
8. Expand "Allow wake timers".
Are any of these enabled?
