T510 w/ ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3

My T510 does not have an eSATA port, so I purchased the Mini Dock Plus Series 3.  However, the eSATA port does not detect my external HDD.

I have other PC's that detect the HDD on their eSATA ports just fine so I know it is not the HDD.

The ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 information page indicates that the eSATA port is compatible with the T510.

The laptop is running Windows 7 64-bit.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why does your T510 not have eSATA? I thought all T510s did...

My 510 has the eSATA port right next to the USB ports on the left side.

Re: T510 w/ ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3

check the bios - security settings, i think there is a setting to enable / disable esata
