T520 Screen loose when closed.

I got a T520 at Christmass and the screen wobbles up and down slightly when the laptop is closed like when the laptop is closed i can push the top down a little bit and it comes back up. It's not that big of a deal but if i have it sitting on the seat of my car it will rattle and when walking i notice it. Also would this be covered in the warrenty for fixing?

Re: T520 Screen loose when closed.

Everything should/would be covered in the notebooks infancy. Right out the box problems. I am not sure if there are rubber bumpers on the lid or not, probably should be. Mine is in for service so I can't check now but it did not rattle. The latch is not great. If I move the slide too far it can be opened. Poor mechanism, it took be at least a minute to open it the first time and I could not figure out why. Later I realized I should only move it slightly and not nearly all the way and then I can open the screen.

Call the support for service or a service center!

Re: T520 Screen loose when closed.

My 11 month old T410 does this also.  Seems to me that the latch mechanism does not hold the lid down enough particularly, in my case, on the LH side.  Another thing i have noticed is that the palm rest seems slightly creaky on each front corner. Finally, the wide space bar on my keyboard started not spacing so words would appear joined together ~ give lenovo their due though, when i reported this fault they replaced the keyboard within 24 hours.  I have had T series laptops since the old T21 owning a T21, T30, T41, T61, T400 and now the T410. Maybe it is just me but it does seem to me that with the T410 the famous T series quality is slipping and this is the first T series that i have ever had any problems with.
