T530, 2101: Detection error on HDD2 (Mini Sata)

I started getting this error everytime I reboot my machine. If I press ESC boot continues fine.

Whats strange is I dont eve have a HDD2 Mini Sata, and if I do I have never known about it and I cant set it in device manager, etc.

How do I get the machine from stopping to try and detect this? Very annoying.

Disconnect AC power, remove battery pack, wait for a while, then put everything back and try if 2101 disappears.

Does your DVD drive work? Normally, HDD2 is in the ultrabay.

Re: T530, 2101: Detection error on HDD2 (Mini Sata)

Don't know the details of the OP's problem, but the error message says "(Mini SATA)".

In my case both primary HDD and ultrabay SSD work flawlessly. The mPCIe/mSATA slot has a WWAN card. Everything works fine despite of the error message. 2101 disappeared after removing and re-attaching all primary power supplies (AC and battery). The backup battery was left untouched.

The mSATA is HDD3

Re: T530, 2101: Detection error on HDD2 (Mini Sata)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies. This post was made 4 months or so ago and the issue is resolved now. IBM came and replaced the mini sata care on the bottom of the laptop. I had no idea I had this card installed at all, I wasn't using it. Alas, the message went away upon replacing it.
