Re: T530 - Scratch proof cover?

Do you mean the lid? My W520 has accumulated a fair number of scuffs and scratches due to being shoved directly into a backpack next to a bunch of binders. Zippers on the inside didn't help much.

Consider a sleeve or skin?

Re: T530 - Scratch proof cover?

I have yet to see a laptop that doesn't have scratches on its cover. Consider covering the machine in some kind of clear vinyl if it bothers you. 3M makes some good protectors, so I'd contact them.

X1 Carbon 3rd Gen Type 20BT i7-5500U, 2560x1440 (non-touch), Win 10 Pro, 8GB RAM, 512 SSD, Intel 7625 WiFi, BT 4.0 | ThinkVision P24q-10 monitor

Re: T530 - Scratch proof cover?

my understanding is that T430/530 uses a matt-like surface for the lid

Re: T530 - Scratch proof cover?

Spyderz,

Here is a link to the product detail page that has a video tour showing the T530.  The T530 meets military specs for toughness.

Hope this helps you make an informed decision.  It would probably have to be made from titanium to be completely scratch "proof".

Re: T530 - Scratch proof cover?

Whilst passing my local Rolls Royce dealer the other day I noticed, while they were driving a new model out of the showroom, that it had a scratch within the paintwork upon it's rear quarter panel. As I was carrying my laptop (T410s, 2 years old) in my Haliburton Laptop Case at that time, I immediately opened said case and examined my computer. No scratches! This goes to prove that beyond any doubt, Lenovo's finish is better than that of a Rolls Royce within a properly protected area.

I love my LENOVO.

I do not work for LENOVO.
